About the Workshop
The topic of this meeting has been selected to help newly-qualified and experienced teachers become aware of how to plan and deliver training sessions for others. This skill is likely to be useful in a range of teaching contexts including language schools, university departments, secondary schools or a teaching community in general. We can be invited to give workshops and talks sharing our own expertise in various areas of teaching.
In this meeting we will talk about the differences between lesson planning and preparation for teacher training events. We will discuss how to prepare for such events effectively and help you choose the topic for your future presentation or training session for our community. Since planning is the key, we will focus on how to plan the input, group activities and reflection. Then you will learn some secrets of using a slideshow such as a PowerPoint presentation to support your session. Finally, we will outline the key things to get ready for while delivering the session and discuss how to overcome possible difficulties. Our invited speaker, Olga Connolly will be happy to share her extensive experience as a presenter and teacher trainer, both her successes and failures.
